So ask yourself, why would my height be considered a gift?

Is it enough to say because I said so?

If not then maybe sharing these reasons will assist you with coming to the same conclusion.

Reason #1 God Makes No Mistakes

You are a part of a master plan and your height is an important aspect along with every other vital part of you.  Your body is precious and unique. There is no one like you in the world.  Be appreciative.

Reason #2 You are one of a kind, Standing Above the Rest

You don’t have work at being seen, like some of our shorter counterparts. We spend no time at all making our legs look amazing in nightgowns, swimsuits, etc. I stop counting the number of times I have been asked to share some of my height.

Reason #3 You Were Born to Shine

Hollywood standards do not define you. Your height is what Hollywood is missing. Now we just have to patiently wait for them to notice. There are some tall girls trying to break through in Hollywood but the struggle continues. There is no such thing as a perfect body and once you figure that out, you will be well on your way to loving the skin you are in!

According to Google and many other sources, a gift is a present or natural ability. You are naturally tall.

Your height should not be about misery but rather appreciation.

So, your time is better spend doing something other than fretting about it.

Sisters, there are others that are green with envy about your height. You should be just as ecstatic as them because anything else would minimize your beauty. #selflove #shineon #bodypositivity

Strangers tend to think we are a freak of nature, especially when we have no interest in sports.

If you live in a big city this may be even more true because you come across a lot more people.

Men are inclined to say “we are the same height laying down, babe” whereas, shorter women will beg for a few inches of height.

We are not laying down all day and have no intentions of cutting any parts of our body. Not to mention, our height is a gift!

In knowing that our height was not something we purchased from a dealer to stand out among the crowd, why give us a hard time?

What is height shaming?

Height shaming is the unjust mistreatment of tall people which may manifest as acts of singling out, disrespecting and/or making fun of a person in a longer/larger body. Height shaming is real and it happens in the most subtle ways at times. This is why it is important during conversations with people to think before speaking/acting. Height shaming persists because we as a society aren’t doing enough to call it out and stand in solidarity against it. Our culture isn’t accepting the variety of body types and are only following what the media/Hollywood deems as the right body size. Height shaming is ignorant and can possibly manifest into hate.  Below are three reasons height shaming is not cool.

Reason #1 Height shaming (physical appearance) offers no insight to a person’s character

I have come across some amazing tall females across the world. It is likely you are missing out on some great possible friendships, due to not taking a moment to see beyond height. So, take a moment to notice other things you may have in come with us before going down the rabbit hole about height to include the heights of our parents, kids, cousins, great-great grandfather, etc.

Reason #2 Height shaming may lead to low self-esteem

For females in general, there are enough social norms to keep up with and worrying about our height does not need to be another.  Height shaming can lead to a lack confidence and a bad feeling of self. Height is not a flaw and while everyone’s self-esteem is vulnerable to other people, you can make a conscious effort to use good judgement in interacting with us, tall females.

Reason #3 Height shaming is a form of bullying

Bullying continues to be a hot topic because some people just do not get it. You know what it means and if not take a moment to do a google search. The term bully is mostly seen in association with adolescence; however, it can be extended to adults. Bullying can cause some serious psychological conditions, such as depression, suicidal thoughts, bad temper, and loneliness which sometimes cannot be seen right away. People can “snap” because of bullying so take it serious.

Are you a height shaming bully? Consider this:

• Do I make jokes about tall people that I see in public or in the media
• Do I tease friends/family about their height in attempts to be funny
• Do I allow those around me to make jokes about tall people
• Do I make assumptions about tall people

This is just some food for thought and hopefully some information to ignite conversation about the things you are directly and indirectly doing to us, tall females.

Resident Evil has introduced Lady Dimitrescu, a tall vampire lady. If you looking for a run down in reference to her within the game, this is not the article for you. This articles focuses mostly on the tall female depictions shown within the Tall Lady.

She is affectionately called “Tall Lady.” She has a cameo within their new trailer but immediately upon seeing it I could tell she has a big personality. Since the plot is mostly a family affair I would not be surprised to see more of her as she runs things within her immediate family.

As tall female, most of the time we are not taking the backseat on anything, which is evident in this game. She is leading the way, while letting those watching her figure out if she is reporting to someone else.

Then to go a step further, Tall Lady is a vampire. Everyone knows that vampires are calculating and in many cases mesmerizing.  These are some great characteristics to associate with a tall female (minus the blood thirsting, merciless part..lol).

They put the tall lady into some fancy clothing and she seems to be a force to deal with. Which in many cases, we can be a handful (ask around if you are unsure or disagree).

They did not let us down with Tall Lady. Her fancy dressing and her slanted hats give me the chills to even think about it. I don’t think I am the only one getting chills from the character, artists around the world are drawing Tall Lady and speaking of her as if they want her in their life.

Shout out to whomever birthed Tall Lady. She is getting lots of attention and it is not the attention where people are saying “dang she is tall”! They are looking beyond that part and checking out her sass and style.

On the other hand, there are a few admirers that are focusing solely on the dominatrix aspect of Tall Lady by creating drawings where she is crushing men (people) but that comes with the territory.

You (tall females) should be use to that kind of stuff by now. It is unavoidable. The every day tall female with pig tails and soft spoken would be referred to as Giantess, Amazon, etc. so this tall lady is no exception.

The character promotes the notion that we are more than just our height even if she is not real. She has many characteristics that you would see in several tall females!!

We have decided that now is a good time to give some results.

Those that participated were random and consisting of both males and females.

None of the response were shocking but some of them were very funny.

With the recent hype about our height in the videogame community with the teasing of Resident Evil 8: the village, did you know that we have another big moment in videogame history?

Back in 1989, you had Mario running castle to castle to save the princess from fire breathing turtles, Simon Belmont hunting Dracula, and putting in the Konami code to buff your overly jacked Contra dudes.

During the 80’s, videogames were young and filled with herculean men and ninjas, but we had one tall female secretly saving the world from an alien threat and space pirates.  Yup! I’m talking about a tall female named Samus Aran of Super Metroid.

Samus Aran come in standing at 6’3” (190 cm) and is accredited as the first heroin and human female in video game history.

Not only was she tall, but she was filled with badass butt kicking action that kept up with the likes of Megaman and snake from metal gear.

Brief background behind our fictitious heroin, she was a galactic bounty hunter who acquired a power suit.

This suit allowed her to confront the conditions of space as well as gave her an array of weaponry. She would assist in the Galactic Federation in bringing the notorious space pirate, Ridley and his gang, in the meantime saving the world from the biological hazard and parasitic organisms the Metroid’s.

But, what makes this game so ground and wall breaking was how they introduced her to the players!

The game was your average platform style game, but for the first time allowed the players to traverse the map revisiting rooms they had already been in and further unlocking more secrets. Due to videogames being a dominated by male players at the time, the idea of marketing a female protagonist was extremely difficult.

Little boys could not identify with female characters, let alone a tall independent woman in a world of saving short princesses. This was the 80’s and to these players girls still had cooties.

Disguised as another epic space themed robot shooter Metroid took players on a 2D pixelated Horror, adventure, shooter game. While these little boys were thinking they were just playing another run of the mill character, it wasn’t until the end of the game, that our hero, Samus Aran was revealed to be a galaxy saving woman.

You know how when we come home after along work day, the bra is one of the first things to come off to relax around the house, well could you imagine spending hours trapped in a sweaty metal exo-suit for who knows how long?

Once the game was beat there was a cut scene where Samus return home and removed her suit showing the players what they believe to be a guy, was really a tall female all along!

Whenever you’re doubting your height, you can remember Nintendo didn’t choose to break video game barrier for women with a short delicate damsel in distress, but with one 6” + bad mutha…”Shut your mouth” (Shaft reference) female.
